Scrutiny - Reasonable Adjustments

During Spring 2026 Scrutiny our panel took a deep dive into our Reasonable Adjustments service, and made recommendations on how we can improve.

Reasonable Adjustments - your recommendations

We had 13 customers attending our first session and 9 customers the next two.
The Panel made nine recommendations, you can see them below:

  • Use various channels to reach all customers and share useful referrals and signposting to services.
  • Deliver a regular communication campaign encouraging customers to review and update their personal preferences and vulnerability details.
  • Deliver a communications campaign across social media, PlainSpeaking, and website to raise awareness of how customers can report neighbour and safeguarding concerns to the Trust or external agencies.

  • The group reviewed and recommended some changes to the Adaptations and Vulnerable Persons policies.

  • Review key customer communications and documents to remove jargon.
  • Review and refresh current Jargon Buster document.
  • Create and publish Reasonable Adjustments leaflet on the website.

  • Test the extended repairs service and share our findings with the panel with evidence on actual customer usage and factors influencing low uptake.
