Why I need you to report anti-social behaviour

A message from your Anti-Social Behaviour Officer.

Your home should feel safe

As an Anti-Social Behaviour Officer, I work every day to help make our communities safer and more peaceful. I know how distressing anti-social behaviour (ASB) can be - whether it’s loud noise, threats, vandalism, or drug misuse.

That’s why I need your help. When you report ASB, you’re not just protecting yourself, you’re helping us protect your neighbours and the wider community.

What classes as anti-social behaviour

I deal with a wide range of issues. Some of the most common include:
•    Persistent noise or loud parties
•    Threatening or aggressive behaviour
•    Harassment or bullying
•    Graffiti or vandalism
•    Drug use or dealing

Even if it doesn’t affect you directly, it could be making life very difficult for someone else. If I don’t know about it, I can’t do anything to stop it.

Why your report matters

We can only act on what we know. We rely on residents to tell us what’s happening. Your report gives us the information we need to investigate and take action.

  • You’re Helping Others. Your report could protect a vulnerable neighbour or prevent further incidents.
  • It Helps Me Build a Case. Even if you’re not ready for action now, your report helps us keep a record. If the behaviour continues, that record becomes vital.
  • It Sends a Clear Message. When residents speak up, it shows that ASB won’t be tolerated. That helps build a culture of respect and accountability.

Why you should report crime to both us and the police

If you witness criminal behaviour - like drug dealing, harassment, or criminal damage - please report it to both the police and the Trust. Here’s why:
•    The police investigate and prosecute crimes.
•    Our ASB team handle tenancy enforcement — like warnings or legal action.
•    We work together to build stronger cases.
•    Your report helps us act faster and more effectively.
•    Unreported crime often escalates — your voice can stop it.

Why we encourage you to share your contact details

We understand that reporting ASB can feel daunting. While we do accept anonymous reports, sharing your contact details helps us help you better:

  • We can ask follow-up questions and understand the issue more clearly.
  • Named reports carry more weight, especially if legal action is needed.
  • We can keep you updated and offer support.
  • Your identity is always kept confidential unless you say otherwise.

Let’s work together

Reporting ASB isn’t about getting someone into trouble, it’s about protecting your home, your peace of mind, and your community. I’m here to help, and I take every report seriously.
