Stock condition surveys of our homes
Why are you doing these surveys?
We're working hard to make sure we invest in your homes at the right time. This means making sure they are decent, warm and safe for you and your families.
You told us what was important to you and the surveys will help us work towards these:
- Building safety - including damp and mould. Keeping you safe is always our first priority.
- Energy efficiency
- Living independently
- Making sure your homes are in decent condition, especially kitchens and bathrooms (Kitchens are scheduled to be replaced every 30 years and bathrooms every 40 years - but we always check their condition and the condition of other parts of your home first, to help us prioritise the homes which need upgrades urgently.)
How do I know if my home will be surveyed?
If your home is due to be surveyed you will receive a letter from Savills who will be completing the survey. This letter will explain the next steps and contact information for the surveyors.
If you don’t receive a letter please don’t worry – we survey all of your homes on a 5 year cycle so we will contact you when it is your turn.
When will they begin?
The surveys will start on 18th November 2024 with the intention of being completed by 7th March 2025. The letter will include next steps and how to contact the Surveyor directly.
During this period if you have been contacted by a surveyor from Savills, please allow them access to your home and it should take up to an hour to complete.
What can I expect when they arrive?
Surveyors will be wearing a Savills identification badge and will carry a letter of authority on Peaks & Plains headed paper.
We would stress that you should not take time off work, or wait in for a surveyor to call. If you are not in when a surveyor calls, they will leave a calling card with their contact details on for you to arrange an appointment.
