The team deal with anti-social behaviour (also known as ASB), which refers to a wide range of unacceptable behaviour in the community. It can include things like neighbour disputes, arson, noise, assault, hate crime.
- You can find out more about ASB and how to report it to the Trust here.
The entire team work hard to make sure your home and neighbourhood is a peaceful, enjoyable place to live. In this blog, we're meeting Louise.
Tell us about yourself
My name's Louise.
My role covers two areas; safeguarding and domestic abuse. The main responsibility within my role is to support adults and children to feel safe in their home, free from abuse or harm.
What's your favourite thing about your role?
My role is very diverse, so no two days are the same. I get to build relationships with others in the Trust through cross-team working, whilst also building relationships with external agencies.
I have always loved working with people, and this role allows me to do that, whether it be professionals or our customers.
How did you start working in this sector? Was there anything that made you want to work with our communities?
I started working in the field of domestic abuse and safeguarding 3 years ago, after completing my Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology. In my previous roles I have worked with both survivors and perpetrators of domestic abuse. Last summer I was looking to relocate closer to family, and when looking at job opportunities, this role at PPHT stood out to me. The Trust had begun to move towards DAHA accreditation, and this role allowed me to be heavily involved in this project, ensuring that our customers were accessing quality support. Whilst the role allows me to continue being customer facing, this opportunity to drive the Trust to achieve DAHA accreditation really excited me.
Tell me about a day at work that you’re really proud of
One of the most rewarding parts of my role is when I receive feedback from customers stating they feel much safer in their home after the work we’ve done. The cases I hold can be challenging and complex, however, seeing that I’ve made a positive difference in someone’s life is a great reward.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to spend time with my friends and family, going out for walks, food & drink. I also like to read to wind down after a long day at work.
