Struggling to pay the bills and keep food on the table at the same time? These organisations will help you get make sure that you and your family are fed during difficult times.

Macclesfield

 

 

The CORE Pantry, Upton Priory

A Food Pantry for members of the SK10 3 area of Macclesfield.

Apply in advance over on their website.

£3.50 membership when you attend - up to once per week. 

  • Wednesday 4pm-7pm. 
  • Thursday 12pm-2.30pm.

Cre8 Surplus Food Grocery

A food grocery and cafe open to all. £3 per visit. Once per week, no restrictions. 

They are open on:

  • Tuesday, 12.30pm-5pm at St Barnabas Church, Macclesfield, SK11 7RS.
  • Thursday, from 1pm at Green on the Corner, Hurdsfield, SK10 2RJ.
  • Thursday 1.30pm-3.30pm, Life Church, Hawthorn Road, Bollington, SK10 5JN.

 

Silklife

You need a referral for this foodbank, but Silklife Macclesfield will provide you with 5 days of food once they receive your referral. 

You can be referred by any professional agency - like a health visitor, social services, GP, Citizens Advice. As your landlord, we can refer you too. Email us at SupportTeamReferrals@peaksplains.org

 

Salvation Army (Macclesfield & Crewe)

Salvation Army Macclesfield and Salvation Army Crewe have a small stock of food available for those facing food crisis.

 

St Michael's Church

St Michael's Church offer ‘Angel At My Table’, a surplus food café which serves snacks, light meals and lunches for just a small donation - whatever you can afford.

One visit per week - a food grocery open to all. No restrictions, no charges.

One Project

Surplus food and community fridge and freezer - open to all to use, donations welcome.

Bread and Butter Food Club

High Peak Food Bank (Zink)

High Peak Food Bank covers Buxton, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Hope Valley and the northern Derbyshire Dales. They offer 3 days worth of emergency food, alongside other support services to help with isolation and employment.

Stockport Foodbank

Stockport Foodbank covers the whole SK area. You need to be referred to access a 3 day emergency food parcel.

Hope Central, North East Cheshire

Hope Central cover Knutsford, Handforth, Wilmslow and all the areas inbetween. They can provide a 3 day emergency food parcel for people in crisis. They can also provide support with debt, money management, employment advice and addiction.

Nantwich Foodbank

Nantwich Foodbank is part of the Trussel Trust and they can provide 3 days of emergency food. You need to be referred to recieve one of their food parcels.

Too Good To Go

Restaurants, cafes and supermarkets list unsold food for discount prices at the end of the day. You can buy 'magic bags' on their app.

 

Foodbanks, churches, community cafes - fantastic people across our communities run these organisations so that you can feel supported if you're in crisis. We'll signpost you towards these organisations whenever we can - and if you’re struggling with your rent, please get in touch with us. We have an experienced and well-trained team who are here to help.
